Dry Mouth Patients Could Benefit from Acupuncture

In tonight's HealthierMe, head and neck cancer patients who suffer from dry mouth after treatment could benefit from acupuncture. Dry mouth affects quality of life, interfering with taste, chewing, even speaking.

In this study, British doctors had patients undergo a weekly acupuncture session. Although there were no physical changes in saliva production, the acupuncture group was twice as likely to say their symptoms had improved.
