We're following a developing story out of the Twin Cities. St. Paul Police are investigating a second deadly officer-involved shooting in less than 24 hours. The latest incident left one officer hurt and the suspect dead.

Valley News Live sister station Kare 11 reports, one officer was taken to Regions Hospital and is in stable condition.  Authorities say two officers were responding to reports of a theft at a residence when a suspect opened fire at the squad car hitting one of the officers.

The officers then returned fire killing the suspect.  It happened shortly after 11:00 Tuesday night. Names of the wounded officer and the suspect have not been released yet.

The shooting happened just hours after another officer-involved shooting in St. Paul that left one suspect dead.  Officers shot and killed a man during a traffic stop after Minneapolis police asked for help in a drug investigation. The two officers involved are on standard paid leave.
