Local Church Gets Restoration

Posted: Updated:

St. Peters Church was built under the direction of Father Theillon in 1914. The French priest got local farmers organized in dairy farms and helped start a cheese factory to provide income for the church and it's members.

Now, nearly 100 years later, Church members want to make sure its all here for generations to come.

This small congregation has taken on a 400-thousand dollar project to re-grout the church's brick exterior, put a new gold leafed cross in place, fix stained glass windows and more.

It's expected that restoring the church's exterior will take another six weeks. However, Dufault believes it's a project that will keep this church in place for his grandchildren's children and beyond.
