Car Vaults into Diversion After Swerving to Miss Other Car

Posted: Updated:

West Fargo police may have a tough time finding a wayward driver that forced another car to veer off the road late Friday afternoon.

It happened on 40th Avenue about a mile west of Sheyenne Street in West Fargo.

The two people inside the car were not seriously hurt.

Two girls from Alexandria, Minnesota were heading west on 40th Avenue, when a car heading east went in their lane. The car with the girls inside swerved and was vaulted 40 feet into the air. The car landed on its side and then onto its roof.

The girls had to climb out of a broken window as the car filled up with water. The girls were not seriously hurt, but police tell us one of them had a broken wrist.

Investigators at this point, do not have a good description of the suspect vehicle.

They are hoping that the girls might be able to provide them with information. Or, if you were in the area around 5 or 5:30 p.m. and saw something, give West Fargo police a call.
