Danger from Above

Minnkota Power has some tips to keep your family safe during the fall rush.

They're asking farmers and all operators of high profile equipment to watch for overhead power lines.

There have already been 3 incidents of construction equipment and a beet truck coming in contact with power lines in the Valley during the past month. Luckily, no one was injured in those accidents.

Matt Reule, Minnkota Power: "We want to make sure the public is aware of their surroundings and to always look up for power lines anytime they're out working."

The experts advise that before you start a project at any site, make sure you take a little time to survey the area for overhead power lines.

If you ever do come in contact with a power line, stay in your vehicle, call 9-1-1 and wait for help.
