Fire management officials say the North Minnie fire near Red Lake, Minnesota, continues to burn. The fire is the largest of several burning in the area and has consumed more than 38 square miles.
Authorities say about 150 people are working on the fire which is about 30% contained. The Department of Natural Resources says the North Minnie fire is not expected to be contained until the end of the month.
The fire is threatening private land, timber resources, a major power line and a few private hunting cabins in Beltrami Island State Forest. It started about a week ago and is about 5 miles northeast of the Fourtown area.

Firefighters have a fire near Karlstad, Minnesota that forced an evacuation of hundreds of people last week about 90% contained.  A wildfire near Viking is 80% contained.
