Hundreds Gather for Breast Cancer Walk

Posted: Updated:

Hundreds gathered Sunday morning for the 5th annual Fargo-Moorhead Breast Cancer Walk.

Walkers united to bring awareness and funds to those affected by breast cancer.

The three mile walk began and ended at the West Acres Shopping Center.

Some of people walking were survivors, having fought many years with the disease, but many were not. To those people, the walk meant they could be there for someone who needs the support.

Walker Alice Newsam says, "It's a tough road, and some people go it alone, and some people have great support systems. So I think this is a good way to show that no matter what stage you're at, that you always have someone who's there with you."

The money raised will benefit the Livestrong foundation at the YMCA and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
