Posted: Updated:

It's a heartwarming story that for most viewers, started in January 2011 and ended with the Perham Yellowjackets' win at the state basketball championship. The story of how then-seventeen-year-old Zach Gabbard collapsed during a Perham high school basketball game touched the hearts of hundreds of people around the Red River Valley -- and tonight, the story continues, thanks to his mother Meridee.

Meridee Gabbard has authored a book about Zach's experience, from near-death to his triumphant return to school and the basketball court nearly a year after his collapse. Called, "You're Never Promised Another Day," it's available at Gathering Grounds in Perham as well as other local bookstores. You can also get a copy through Meridee; email her at mgabbardzg3@hotmail.com.
