Mother Charged With Murder in Son's Death

Posted: Updated:

A Fort Ransom, ND mother is being held on ten thousand dollars' cash bond after being charged in the murder of her little boy.
Jodi Lindvall is in Barnes County Jail after facing charges of murder, child neglect or abuse.
Her twenty-two month old son, Bentley, died September 22 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo.
Court officials aren't releasing the public document that would give detail as to why they think they have cause to charge Lindvall in the death of the toddler.
The Ransom County Clerk of Court says there may be a motion pending to seal that document.
The pastor who performed Bentley Lindvall's funeral says people in the Fort Ransom area are confused and upset.
"We just don't know how it's all going to turn out. I think we're all in a state of shock over this, and I think there's a real concern for the family, since it is after all, the death of a child. The death of a child is different than any other death," said Pastor Norm Anderson, of Trinity Lutheran Church. Anderson says most of the questions he's heard over the past couple of days are about how it could have happened, and why.

Court officials could determine as early as Wednesday morning whether the documents in the case will be released.
