Driver Swerves to Miss Pedestrian, Driver Dies

  A 22 year old man was killed when he swerved to avoid a pedestrian and rolled his vehicle.

  The Becker County Sheriff says the one-car rollover happened late Friday morning. He was driving on County Highway 35 south of State Highway 113, north of Detroit Lakes.

   Authorities are reconstructing the crash scene to figure out exactly what happened. The victim's name will be released after his family is notified.

  At 10:36 AM this morning (9/21/12) the Becker County Dispatch Center received a report of a one car rollover approximately two miles south of State Highway 113 on Becker County Highway 35, which is located in the north-central part of Becker County approximately 30 miles northeast of  Detroit Lakes.   

  Details at this time - it was a 22 year old male, Becker County resident, who swerved to avoid a pedestrian, lost control of his Dodge Avenger and overturned violently.  It has been determined that the driver/victim appears to have not been wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident.

  An accident reconstruction has been requested at this time.  Responding units from Tulaby-Elbow Lake Fire Department, White Earth Police Department, Becker County Sheriff's Office, Carsonville Rescue and Naytahwaush Ambulance were unable to revive the victim. 

  At this time law enforcement personnel are attempting to locate next of kin for notification and no other details can be released.
