Small Fire at MinnKota Recycling

Posted: Updated:

Fargo fire crews were called to MinnKota Recycling in Fargo just after 8am this morning. After a conveyor belt that was being worked on caught some near by papers on fire.

When Fargo Fire arrived employees were trying to put the fire out with a garden hose. Firefighters were able to completely flood the paper pit with water to prevent any spread and completely extinguish the flames.

Firefighters have turned over the scene to MinnKota, who are working on clean up. Fargo Fire is glad the employees and their firefighters were abele to take immediate action. As recycling plants like MinnKota have large amounts of plastic and paper that can quickly get out of control.
