The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified the victim of a deadly roll over crash in Benson County early Wednesday morning.

Investigators say Willard Westad, who's 43 and from Maddock, ND, lost control of his SUV on Highway 281 near Minnewaukan.

ORIGINAL STORY:

One person is dead after an overnight crash in northeast North Dakota. The North Dakota Highway Patrol says it happened about 12:30 this morning on highway 281 near Minnewaukan, that's on the west side of Devils Lake.

According to the crash report, the driver missed a curve in the road, then over-corrected. His jeep ended up rolling over in the ditch and he was dead when police arrived.

Investigators have not released the name of the driver killed, but say he is a 43-year-old man from Maddock, North Dakota.
