New research reveals women with the most common and least aggressive form of breast cancer are still at risk of death years after their diagnosis. Luminal-A tumors are responsible for over half of all breast cancer cases and generally have the best prognosis. But a Kaiser Permanente study found these women were still at risk of dying from breast cancer more than ten years later. Researchers say women with these tumors may benefit from a longer period of treatment to increase their chances for long term survival.
