First Woman in ND Guard Reaches "Full Bird" Rank

FARGO, N.D. (AP) - The military says a change of command is set for North Dakota Army National Guard's largest unit will change this weekend.
 
Col. Lannie Runck will step down as commander of Fargo's 141st  Maneuver Enhancement Brigade unit on Saturday. Runck plans to retire later this year.

Col. Giselle Wilz will take over the command. The military says Wilz is the first woman in the North Dakota National Guard to achieve the rank of "full bird" colonel.
 
The 141st Maneuver Enhancement Brigade encompasses more than 1,400 soldiers in units throughout eastern North Dakota.
