Misunderstanding Leads to Error on Abuse Story

  We have an update on a case of animal abuse we told you about last week. The Polk County Sheriff's Office is now saying that the story of a dog being tied to railroad tracks near Fisher, Minnesota, is not true. Deputies say misunderstandings and assumptions led to the erroneous conclusion. They say the dog strayed from his home after his owners left town for a family emergency and while being cared for by another family member. The dog was found untagged near the tracks with injuries and taken to the Humane Society to be checked over by a vet.
