UPDATED 09/09 9:30 p.m.

We now know the name of a man killed after his SUV vaulted into a coulee late Saturday night.

40-year-old Jeremy Rader of Casselton, North Dakota was westbound on Interstate 94 two miles west of West Fargo when he entered the median.

Authorities say his SUV continued to speed through the median until it went airborne into the coulee and hit the concrete embankment.

The vehicle started on fire after people who saw the crash pulled him out of the vehicle.

Authorities say Rader died from injuries in the crash. They also say alcohol was not involved.

The crash remains under investigation.

UPDATED: 09/09 1:05 a.m.

A 40-year-old man was killed when his van careened into a ravine just east of the Kindred exit on Interstate 94 Saturday around 11:20 p.m.

Sgt. Troy Hischer with the North Dakota Highway Patrol says the man was driving west on the interstate when he entered the median. His van continued at a high rate of speed through the median until it vaulted into the ravine.

Hischer says witnesses who saw the crash immediately ran to remove the man from his vehicle, though he was found dead from the injuries he sustained in the crash.

Once the man was removed, Hischer says his van started on fire. Fire crews were on hand not long after that to put out the flames.

Hischer says alcohol was not involved in this crash. He says it looks like the man had a medical problem.

His name is not being released until his family has been notified.

---------------

At 11:20 dispatch received a call about an injury accident on I-94 about a quarter mile east of the Kindred exit. Crews arrived shortly afterwards to a car engulfed in flames. The fire has been put out, and crews remain on scene. Traffic on both sides of the interstate has been slowed significantly and is down to one lane. More information to follow.
