Officer Bit by Suspect in Arrest Attempt

Posted: Updated:

A Fargo police officer was bit after trying to arrest a man early this morning. It happened at 1104 19th Street North around 1:30 a.m.

Police were called to an apartment for an assault.

When trying to confront the suspect, the man began to fight with officers. That is when he bit one.

19-year-old Kom Coyle Draeger of Fargo was arrested for several charges including assaulting a peace officer, terrorizing and preventing arrest.

But those are not his only charges. Police say he was also involved in another crime.

Sergeant Kevin Volrath says, "While they were investigating this crime they found out that he was possibly a suspect in an earlier burglary of a friend of our victim of the assault."

Officers tacked on burglary to his long list of charges.

No one including the officer who was attacked was seriously hurt.
