Rick Berg Scores Oil Patch Endorsements

Posted: Updated:

Rick Berg picked up endorsements from lawmakers in the Oil Patch of North Dakota, his campaign announced on Tuesday.

Those endorsing Berg in his race for the U.S. Senate seat opening up with the retirement of Kent Conrad include:

Senate Majority Leader Rich Wardner

District 36 Senator George Nodland

District 36 Representative Mike Schatz

District 37 Representatives Nancy Johnson

District 37 Representative Vicky Steiner

In a news release, the campaign added, "Dickinson Mayor Dennis Johnson joined the group in endorsing Rick Berg for the US Senate. To date, North Dakota mayors Ward Koeser of Williston, Rich Mattern of West Fargo, Curt Zimbelman of Minot, Katie Andersen of Jamestown, and Brent Sanford of Watford City have also endorsed Rick Berg."

"It's an honor to have the support of these leaders from Williston and the surrounding communities," said Rick Berg. "Whether it's our approach to energy production, creating a stable regulatory environment, or balancing our budgets, the way we do things here in North Dakota works, and President Obama and Senate Democrats could learn a lot from our local leaders."
