New Additions at WE Fest

Posted: Updated:

It could be a record-breaking 30th annual year at the biggest country music festival of the summer in Minnesota.

WE Fest organizers are preparing for 48,000 people to attend the concerts and nearly 28,000 people in campgrounds. That is 6,000 more people than last year.

Last year WE Fest organizers added plenty of new things from seats to high definition video boards and sound system, and this year is no exception.

What you will probably notice right away are more blue seats from the home of the Chicago White Sox. Last year organizers added about 3,000, and this year they finished out the reserve seating. They now have a little more than 4,000.

You will also see an upgrade to the video boards and sound system.

Perhaps the thing you might find the most convenient, though, is different bathrooms. There are no longer porta potties in the concert bowl. There are permanent buildings scattered across the grounds instead.

If these additions are not enough, perhaps the lineup of talent for the 30th annual year will put the cherry on top.

FACE Concerts Vice President John Gourley says, "We are very fortunate to have Alabama back. They were here for the 1st, 10th and 20th years, so it's fitting that they are returning for the 30th year."

If you are going to the Alabama concert on Saturday night, you will want to stick around after the show. In honor of the 30th year, WE Fest organizers say there will be a big surprise for fans.
