About four out of ten of our nation's tiniest citizens came as a surprise to their parents. A new study from the CDC finds 37% of pregnancies in the U.S. are unintended.
About a quarter of women who are married had an unintended pregnancy, compared to half of unmarried women living with the father and two-thirds of women not living with the father. Women with a college degree were less likely to have an unplanned pregnancy than women with less than a high school diploma. About 30% of the women in the study thought they couldn't get pregnant.
