Valley Fugitives Arrested in Indiana

Two fugitives from the Valley are sitting in jail in Indiana.

US Marshals arrested Anthony Sells and Deanna Swap there Tuesday.  Both are wanted on felony warrants in Cass County.

Sells faces charges of gross sexual imposition on a victim less than 15.

Swap is charged with hindering police in their investigation.

With the help of Fargo Police the marshals service tracked the pair to Gary, Indiana and arrested them without incident.

They're being held there pending extradition back to Fargo.

U.S. Marshal Paul Ward announces the arrests of fugitives Anthony SELLS and Deanna SWAP.  Anthony SELLS, 37, was being sought on a warrant issued in Cass County, North Dakota charging him with AA Felony Gross Sexual Imposition of a victim who was less than 15 years old.  Deanna SWAP, 34, was being sought on a related warrant also issued in Cass County, North Dakota charging her with Felony Hindering Law Enforcement for making false statements during the course of the investigation into Anthony SELLS' Gross Sexual Imposition charges.

 The U.S. Marshals Service's High Plains Fugitive Task Force, with the assistance of the Fargo Police Department, developed information that SELLS and SWAP were in the Gary, Indiana area.  That information was then sent to the U.S. Marshals Service's Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force in Hammond, Indiana.  At approximately 8:00 a.m. central time today, Deputy U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers with the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force located SELLS and SWAP at a Comfort Inn Hotel in Merrillville, Indiana where the couple was staying.  SELLS and SWAP were taken into custody without incident and are being held in the Lake County Jail in Crown Point, Indiana awaiting extradition proceedings. 

The U.S. Marshals Service's High Plains Fugitive Task Force is a partnership of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies focused on improving public safety by capturing fugitives who are charged with or have been previously convicted of a violent crime.  Member agencies in Fargo include the U.S. Marshals Service, Cass County Sheriff's Office, North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and North Dakota Department of Corrections Probation and Parole Division.
