Home Burglary Arrests

Posted: Updated:

The Polk County Sheriff's Department has arrested a man and woman for a rash of daytime home burglaries near Fosston, Minnesota.

The couple's names have not been released yet, pending formal charges.

At least 3 farmsteads around Fosston have been hit in recent weeks during daylight hours.

The Sheriff's Department says the couple would approach a farmstead and if someone was home, they'd simply make up an excuse about having car trouble or searching for a lost dog.

If no one was home, they'd focus on searching the home for cash.

Investigator Michael Norland, Polk County: "Yeah, it doesn't hurt to call in and let us know if somebody comes up there… and it just doesn't seem right. We can always take a look at em. It its legit they can go on their merry way. But, it doesn't hurt for us to check it out."

Norland says this case may also be tied to similar incidents in surrounding counties.
