Late Independence Day for Fargo Airmen

Posted: Updated:

A group of Fargo's famed "Happy Hooligans" -- the Fargo-based Air National Guards 119th -- is getting a belated Independence Day celebration at home.

The final five members of the 119th Civil Engineering Squadron came home from an undisclosed location in the Middle East Thursday night.
The men had been deployed since Christmas Day, 2011.

Air Guard spokespeople say this is the last of a rare large group of fifty Happy Hooligans deployed to Southwest Asia.
One mom said it was a surprise for her daughter.

"I didn't tell her what it was, I told her we were going out to take pictures. But at the end she figured it out," says military wife Nikki Grenz.
The Air Guard was in the Middle East working on construction and electrical projects.
