UPDATE

The goalie for the North Dakota High School state hockey championship team has been seriously hurt in a 4th of July boating accident. The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office says 18-year-old Nicholas Schmit of Fargo was injured when the propeller of a boat ran over him.

The boat was a 2000 Crowline and belonged to Robert Schmit, 49, of Fargo. The driver of the boat was 19-year-old Lucas Michael Buckley, who is also from Fargo.

The accident happened on the north side of West McDonald lake Wednesday. Schmit was rescued by the people in the same boat and was taken to the Perham hospital then life-flighted to Sanford in Fargo.

Police will release details later today about a fourth of July boating accident in Minnesota. The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Department tells Valley News Live that deputies responded to a boating accident on McDonald Lake Wednesday, but that no one was killed. They plan to release more information later this morning.
