Two Killed in Rollover

Police are investigating what led to a rollover crash that killed two in Pierce County, North Dakota early Sunday morning.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, 1999 Buick Century was headed north on 27th Avenue NE, a county gravel road, and approaching 70th Street NE, about 3:30 a.m.

The car was about 6 miles northwest of Rugby, when the driver lost control and went into the ditch. The car ended up rolling, throwing both people from the car.

The 20-year-old male driver from Dayton, Tennessee and his 17-year-old female passenger from Rugby, North Dakota were both killed. Neither were wearing seat belts.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol. The agency was assisted on scene by the Pierce County Sheriff's Office, Rugby Police Department, Rugby Fire Department, and Rugby Ambulance.
