Stutsman County 9-1-1 Problems Fixed - Valley News Live - KVLY/KXJB - Fargo/Grand Forks

Update from Stutsman County Emergency Management:

9-1-1 service in Stutsman County has been restored. Both land and cell phone lines are able to call 9-1-1 from any location in the County.

At 11:27 this morning, a fiber optic cable line was severed 10 miles west of Valley City. The breakage caused all local telephone lines and 9-1-1 lines to quit working. 9-1-1 calls from cell phones were immediately rerouted to State Radio in Bismarck and land line 9-1-1 calls were answered in Jamestown by using other seven digit emergency lines that were dispersed to the public. Stutsman County learned of the fixed fiber optic cable line at 6:44 tonight.

Once again, land and cell phone lines are working again to call 9-1-1.

9-1-1 service in Stutsman County is currently experiencing problems.  Cell phone customers are still able to call 9-1-1.  For local emergency 9-1-1 purposes, Century Link customers can call 252-1000, Daktel customers can call 952-8911.  Long distance land lines DO NOT WORK, you must call 9-1-1 from a cell phone.  Once again, cell phone customers can call 9-1-1 from any location within Stutsman County.
