Agassiz Lockdown 911 Tapes Released

Posted: Updated:

It was back on May 8th, right around 1:45 in the afternoon, when a caller made threats to the Agassiz school.

Using the 20 minute conversations between 911 dispatch and school officials, we'll take you inside the building that day.

911 Dispatcher: "911, what's your emergency?"

School official: "Um, this is Jane calling from Agassiz School and we have had a bomb threat over the phone."

The male was still on the line with the school's principal, Deb Dillon, who was trying to calm the young man down.

Deb Dillon: "Don't, don't do that, don't do that. You'll be fine."

The caller claimed there were four bombs in the building.

Information from the ongoing call between the principal and the caller was continually relayed to dispatch by an office worker.

School official: "He said that he is a student and he...she keeps telling him we can work this out, calm down, he says he has a gun."

While the call was ongoing, police surrounded the school, blocking off roads in the area.

The caller at one point saying he shot himself and the line went silent.

Deb Dillon: "Hello? I'm hearing sounds and then I'm having...are you...are you hurt? Can you tell me where you are?"

A few moments later, the caller was back on the line.

School official - "She just heard gunshots"

911 Dispatcher - "How many?"

School official - " How many? How many? Three...far off in the distance shots. Three"

It was a chaotic time for folks in the office.

School official: "Half the time I don't think he's answering her and she just, you know, "hello, hello, can you answer me? I'd like to help you" and he said keep people away from the lockers. We are now locking down the building."

Students were evacuated from the building a little over an hour after the call, and no bombs were found at the school.

Police are now saying they have gone through all leads, and have been unable to solve the case.

The caller at one point identified himself and said he was a student at the school, but that person was checked out and police found no connection between him and the incident.

The case is now classified as "inactive."
