The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks return from the road to play their first home season game of the year tonight at 7:02pm.
Newman Outdoor Field even has some upgrades to share with fans for the 2012 baseball season. The biggest being a brand new video and score board, replacing the old hand operated one.
The 13 & 1/2 by 27 foot video board features a 15 millimeter LED screen that allows for a crisper image than the video board at Target Filed. It's size also makes it the largest TV in North Dakota.
The new score board is controlled from a production control room that features a 16 input switcher, 3 channel character generator, and replay decks all to enhance to fans view and experience of the game.
Another highlight includes the new "Bottoms Up" Draught stand, which can fill one 24oz. beer in under 5 seconds. Making a perfect poor every time it gives fans their cold beverage faster.
Other upgrades include an expansion of the outfield deck and a Cloverdale Meat rib smoking shack.
Travel Advisory from the F-M RedHawks:
FARGO, N.D. – Due to several construction projects occurring on routes leading to Newman Outdoor Field, Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks would like to make fans aware of road closures and detours for this summer.
RedHawks fans are encouraged to arrive at and depart from Newman Outdoor Field using 12th Ave. N. or 19th Ave. N. and use 25th Street or I-29. For the majority of the summer, 10th Street North will be closed from 12th Avenue North to 17th Avenue North. Cars traveling north on 10th Avenue will be detoured to University Drive, which is set up for two-way traffic for the duration of the project.
"It's important that RedHawks fans realize that with the road closures and detours, extra time will be needed to get to Newman Outdoor Field this summer," said RedHawks General Manager Josh Buchholz. "These projects, when finished, are going to make travel to the stadium in the future better, but some patience and flexibility will be needed until the work is completed."
