Smart Phone Medicine

Posted: Updated:

With a host of medical applications and even attachments for your smart phone or tablet staying healthier is made just that much easier.

The Valley Today's John Trierweiler spent the morning learning about some of the unique attachments and applications. Like a blood pressure cuff that attaches to your mobile device and can take your blood pressure in under a minute.

Doctors at Sanford health say this type of technology is an efficient and easy way for people to take and monitor their blood pressure.

High blood pressure is very common and can lead to many risks such as heart attack and stroke. Being able to monitor your blood pressure from home on your own can help reduce those risks and keep your blood pressure in line.

This particular cuff is made by "Withings" and retails for about $130.
