Clay County Sheriff Bill Bergquist said a case of good timing likely prevented major fire damage to a shop in Oakport Township.

A man went out to his shop around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night, spotted a fire and called 911. The man managed to get the flames out with an extinguisher.

The Dilworth Fire Department arrived on scene and used a fan to air out the building.
