Posted: Updated:

North Dakota State edged South Dakota State 52-44 to win its second Dakota Cup golf title Sunday, April 29, at the Dacotah Ridge Golf Club.  South Dakota was incomplete and did not count a team score.

SDSU nearly erased an 18-point deficit from Saturday's first round.  It was NDSU's second title in seven years of competition and its first since the inaugural event in 2005.

The event used a modified Stableford scoring system counting +8 for double eagle, +5 for eagle, +2 for birdie, +1 for par, -1 for bogey and -3 for double bogey or worse.

SDSU's Greg Fehrman shot a tournament-best round of 67 and scored 28 points for the Jackrabbit men, who scored 70 as a team Sunday.  The SDSU women were -34.

NDSU's men scored 18 points led by eight apiece from Nathan Anderson and Nate Varty and four apiece from Kyle Jandro and Zach Stenstad.  Bill Carlson was -6.

The Bison women were +8 in the final round.  Amy Anderson shot a 71 and scored 20 points, Cydney Hasselberg scored eight points, Rachel Roller scored four, Sarah Storandt was even, Megan Swan was -4, Abby Knutson -10, and Jackie Johnson and Jenna Schulte combined for a -10.
