A jury has found a Cooperstown man guilty of shooting, decapitation and slaying a University Researcher.

Jurors in Griggs County have deliberated the fate of Daniel Wacht, a Cooperstown, ND man charged with killing NDSU researcher Kurt Johnson.

Attorney's finished their closing arguments about 11:30 Tuesday morning.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The defense team for Daniel Wacht called just two witnesses before resting Tuesday morning in the trial of the man accused of killing  North Dakota State University researcher Kurt Johnson.

Wacht, 31,  He's accused of shooting and decapitating Kurt Johnson, who was last seen alive on New Year's Even 2010. Authorities say they found Johnson's severed head in Wacht's basement in Cooperstown, but Johnson's body has not been recovered.

Wacht denies killing Johnson.

Closing arguments begin at 10am on Tuesday.
