Candlelight Vigil for Murder Victim

Posted: Updated:

Friends and supporters from the community gathered Monday night to honor a murder victim. They prayed and hugged as they held candles in remembrance of their friend... Kathye Deniger.

As they gathered in her memory, they also hoped the vigil could bring awareness to the issue of domestic violence. Donna Brink was a friend of Kathye's and helped organize the event.

Donna Brink/Organizer and friend: "It's a very important thing for some of us...some of us got to know that she was a kind-hearted wonderful woman that some of us thought she would never hurt a fly. She spent her whole life trying to help others."

A fund has been created so that Kathye's daughter can retrieve her mother's belongings and have her cremated. They'll be returned to Washington state... where Kathye grew up.

If you'd like to make a donation... You can do so at any Wells Fargo location to the Kathye Raven Magnuson Memorial Fund.
