Meet the New Kroll's Ladies!

Posted: Updated:

Kroll's Diner has chosen two new "Kroll's Ladies."  Carol Helgeson of Breckenridge, Minnesota, and Eileen Veitch of Fargo will be starring in commercials alongside long-time Kroll's Lady, Clara Hedin.

News release from Kroll's Diner:

After narrowing the field from 100 to 10, two individuals have been chosen as the next Kroll's Ladies in the Next Kroll's Lady Search Contest. Carol Helgeson of Breckenridge, ND, and Eileen Veitch of Fargo, ND, are the new ladies that will don the red checkered shirts alongside current Kroll's Lady Clara Hedin.

"We just felt that these ladies were a natural fit for the brand. They, like Clara, have that natural comedic talent that set them apart from the competition," Dave Hanson, President of H2M, Kroll's Diners' advertising company, said. "And the public loved them – that much was evident through the public votes."

The Kroll's Ladies branding has been a part of Kroll's Diner for more than 10 years, serving as the face of the franchise, appearing in television commercials, on the restaurant's menus and throughout the brand.

"The Kroll's Ladies have been such a staple of Kroll's brand for so many years, and we're excited to see how that will evolve with the addition of new faces and personalities," Keith Glatt, owner of Kroll's Diner, said.

Both Helgeson and Veitch applied online before auditioning at the live casting call held at Fargo Fest on Sept. 29, 2011.

Helgeson is a retired teacher who taught grades fifth and sixth. She also taught German classes and was an assistant high school speech coach for 20 years. Veitch has worked in the restaurant industry since she was 13 years old. She keeps busy with five children, 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, and enjoys spending her spare time playing pinochle and baking.

A new commercial starring Helgeson, Veitch, as well as Hedin, begins airing Jan. 22.

Kroll's Diner is a 50s-style restaurant with locations in Bismarck, Mandan, Minot and Fargo, ND. Serving up German and American dishes since 1972, the restaurant is known for its award-winning Knoephla Soup and hand-scooped shakes and malts. Most often recognized for its Kroll's Lady characters, the Kroll's brand is marked by its famous tagline, "Sit Down and Eat!"
