Janae Burich recorded her third career double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead the North Dakota State women's basketball team to a 64-50 victory over South Dakota on Saturday, Jan. 14.

The Bison have now won five of their last six and improve to 7-12 overall and 4-3 in the Summit League, while South Dakota is now 10-5 overall and 2-4 in league play.

Both teams struggled from the field early in the first half, but South Dakota went on a 7-0 run to go up by five.  The Bison battled back and took the lead for good on a Dani DeGagne jumper with 5:06 remaining.  NDSU went into the break with a 25-22 lead.

Burich scored 15 of her points in the second half as the Bison pulled away.  A late three-point play from Jamie Van Kirk put NDSU up by double-digits and the team went up by as many as 16.

After shooting only 35.5 percent in the first half, the Bison shot 52.0 percent in the second half.  The Bison defense came up big, limiting South Dakota to only 25.4 percent (16-63) shooting.

Amber Hegge led the Coyotes with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
