Carrick Felix had 15 points including a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift Arizona State to a 60-57 win over North Dakota State in men's college basketball Saturday, Dec. 10, before a crowd of 4,995 at Wells Fargo Arena.
Arizona State (4-5) missed a free throw with 14 seconds left to give NDSU a chance to tie, and Mike Felt connected for a 3-pointer to knot it at 57 with 1.8 seconds left. Felt was 2-for-10 from the arc.
NDSU (7-2) led by as many as five midway through the first half at 16-11, and it was tied at 26 at halftime. Arizona State's biggest lead was 46-40 at the 7:59 mark of the second half.
Taylor Braun led NDSU with 16 points, eight rebounds and five assists and Lawrence Alexander added 11 points and five rebounds. Braun was 7-for-13 from the field including five dunks.
Kyle Cain had 14 points and 13 rebounds for the Sun Devils and Trent Lockett added 10 points and 12 rebounds.
North Dakota State shot 36 percent from the field compared to 34 percent for Arizona State, but NDSU was just 3-for-21 from the 3-point line.
Arizona State was 25-for-35 from the foul line while the Bison went 12-for-18.
ASU outrebounded NDSU 45-32. The Bison committed a season-low six turnovers.
North Dakota State is scheduled to host Mayville State at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Bison Sports Arena.
