More stores at West Acres mall will be opening their doors at midnight, this year. 32 stores at the mall will let shoppers in at 12:00 am. on Black Friday -- that's more than triple the number of stores last year.
At the mall, sales associates say they are stalking inventory and getting mentally prepared for the biggest shopping day of the year. Most say the really enjoy the experience. Though, a majority add, Black Friday could be a lot more fun in everybody held on to their sense of good will all day.
"It's overwhelming. It's fun; but, sometimes it can get a little ugly, people arguing, fighting a little bit," Whitney Butler, a kiosk manager, said."
With that many more stores opening at midnight, West Acres says they're expecting a record amount of shoppers this year. 75,000 people were in and out of the mall throughout Black Friday last year. And with 22 more stores opening this year, the mall expects that number to rise significantly.
On top of that, 20 other mall stores will be opening through the night before the mall officially opens at 7 a-m. And to entice shoppers, the first 100 people to check in at West Acres on their phones via Facebook win a $20 mall card.
Keep this in mind, if you plan on heading out to West Acres on Black Friday, be prepared. Like many stores, they will be busy.
