
Carly Jenson hit .462 with 13 kills to lead No. 17-ranked Iowa State to a 25-20, 25-14, 25-21 sweep of North Dakota State in college women's volleyball Friday, Sept. 9, before a crowd of 1,438 at the Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse.
Hannah Willms added seven kills and Kelsey Petersen and Jamie Straube had six apiece for the Cyclones (8-0).
Chrissy Knuth and Brynn Joki had nine kills apiece to lead North Dakota State (6-4), and Janna Deyle added seven kills while hitting .538 with no errors in 13 attacks.
NDSU libero Andrea Henning made a team-high 12 digs, Joki had 10 digs, and setter Jennifer Lopez made 34 assists.
Iowa State libero Kristen Hahn made a match-high 17 digs and Alison Landwehr had 31 assists as the Cyclones outhit NDSU by a .310 to .152 margin.
The first set was tied 6-6 before Iowa State went on a 4-0 run to force an NDSU timeout, and the Bison trailed by at least three points the rest of the set.
Iowa State broke open an 8-8 game in the second with a 10-2 run including three kills and a block by Jenson.
NDSU threatened in the third set, storming back from an 8-5 deficit to go ahead with four straight kills by Knuth, Joki, Lauren Cammack and Deyle.
The Bison led 18-17 before the Cyclones scored five straight points pull away.
