2011 is the 50th Anniversary of Roger Maris's record-breaking year with the New York Yankees, when he hit 61 home runs and set a new major league record, breaking Babe Ruth's previous record of 60 hit in 1927. Fifty years later, we honor his strength, perseverance, and generosity through his greatest legacy: The Roger Maris Cancer Center.

My name is Ryan Haug and I would like to invite you to join me for the 19th Annual 61for61 Home Run/Walk, honoring the 50th Anniversary of Roger Maris' 61st Home Run. At the age of 21, I was in college and played bass guitar in a band. One morning while shaving, I noticed a swollen gland on the left side of my neck - tests indicated that I had advanced Hodgkin's lymphoma. After 7 months of chemotherapy, I am now an 18 year cancer survivor, married to the love of my life, Tasha, and still play in a band...life is good! Please join me on Saturday, September 24th and walk in honor or in memory of a loved one.
