Minnesota's newest multi-millionaires have stepped forward. Thomas and Kathleen Morris of Burnsville won Wednesday's $229-million Powerball lottery jackpot.
The Morris' usually buy three lottery tickets at a time. But this week, Thomas decided to splurge and get five tickets. The fourth one he bought was the winner.
"I pulled in, filled up, and then bought the ticket," Thomas Morris explains. "And I told the kid at the counter, I said, you don't have to sell any more. I've got the winning ticket. (laughter) and I did."
Now the Morris' face a tough decision: Take $123 million in cash now, or go with the full payout over 30 years.
