UPDATE

From Griggs County Sheriff's Department:

On Tuesday June 7th at approximately 12:30 PM the Griggs County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting an ATV accident at Red Willow Lake with two injured victims lying next to an ATV on one of the cabin roads.

Griggs County Sheriff Units, North Dakota Highway Patrol and Steele County Sheriff Unit along with local EMS arrived on scene and found one male victim, 26-year-old Chase Koller of  Red Willow Lake, and one female victim, 28-year-old Stephanie Nelson of Devils Lake, lying next to a damaged ATV .

Initial investigation showed the ATV struck a tree and both occupants were ejected from the unit and died at the scene as a result of impact injuries.  It was determined the accident happened sometime Monday evening and the scene was discovered on Tuesday at approximately 12:15 PM by a Utility Worker in the area on a routine service call who notified authorities.

It does not appear that foul play or alcohol were a factor.  The accident remains under investigation by the Griggs County Sheriff's Office and the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
