After noticing Anh at a medical conference in San Francisco, Matthew bravely asked her out for coffee the very same day. At the time, Anh was living in San Diego, and Matthew convinced her to travel back to San Francisco for their first official date at Huntington Park. Six months later Anh moved to San Francisco permanently to be with Matthew.

After two years of dating, Matthew took Anh to Huntington Park where they had their first date and proposed. That night they went back to the places where they shared their first cocktails and dinner and ended their evening at Le Colonial to celebrate their engagement with friends. The first flowers Matthew gave Anh were fuchsia phalaneopsis orchids, so they chose fuchsia and deep purple as their wedding colors.

The Bridal Bouquet Anh's and Matthew's florist used purple phalaneopsis orchids, Vanda orchids, and ti leaves in Anh's bouquet.

The Shoes Anh wore dark purple heeled shoes that she found at Macy's on her wedding day.

The Centerpieces Anh and Matthew created their own DIY centerpieces by filling cylinder vases with water and orchid stems. Using Adobe Illustrator they printed their table cards on cardstock and white linen then placed them in silver number holders. Each place setting was also accented with a fresh purple orchid bloom.

The Dessert Instead of a wedding cake, Anh and Matthew ordered cupcakes in various sizes and flavors, which they served on a porcelain cupcake tier. They even found a 6 inch cake topper to fit their top-tier cupcake.

The Menu At midnight, guests were served Anh's favorite food: McDonalds' French fries!

The Favors Because Anh and Matthew are both card game fans, they gave their wedding guests Uno playing decks wrapped with personalized thank you cards.
