MN Legislator Wants to Undo Transgender Sports Ruling

A Minnesota lawmaker has introduced a bill that would un-do the state high school league's ruling that allows transgender boys to play on girls teams starting next year.

State Senator Dave Brown of Becker says girls can play on boys team, but a biological male who identifies as female should not be allowed to play on girls teams.

Senator Scott Dibble of Minneapolis says Brown's bill oversimplifies the issues transgender students and their families face.

The league's new guidelines go into effect in the 2015-2016 academic year.
