Girls on the Run Working to Inspire Confidence

By  |

Your look, size and what you wear shouldn't determine how you're treated, but too often it can, especially for those in school. A national program called Girls on the Run, is inspiring 3rd to 8th graders to be confident in themselves.

Girls on the Run curriculum inspires 3rd to 5th graders girls here in Fargo to define their lives on their own terms. Throughout the season, the girls make new friends, build their confidence and celebrate all that makes them unique.

Kate, Myah, Kalyssa, Kaitlyn, Lydia and Lucy all joined us on the Valley Today, showing off some of the activities and explaining what they're learning.

The program runs ten weeks, the group meets twice a week for 75 minutes. At the end of the program, the girls will run a 5K.

The girls will take part in the first Girls on the Run Cass County 5K, it will be held on Saturday, October 3rd at 9 am at Lindenwood Park. Registration is now open to everyone.
