GRAND FORKS, N.D. (UND Athetlcs) -- Geraldine McCorkell scored a game-high 34 points and Mikayla Ferenz added a triple-double (15 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists) as visiting Idaho claimed a 78-64 win Saturday afternoon at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center in Big Sky Conference play.
Idaho defeated Northern Colorado Thursday and now sits a half-game back of Montana for the top spot in the league standings at 6-3.
True freshman Melissa Leet scored 11 points over the final 11 minutes-- doubling her season output-- to spark a North Dakota rally, but it fell short as UND dropped just its second home game of the season (8-2-).
Lexi Klabo recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds in the loss while Fallyn Freije had a team-high 16 points, adding seven rebounds.
North Dakota (10-10, 3-6) heads to Montana State Thursday to begin the second half of the league schedule.
Notes: UND is 39-13 in home Big Sky Conference games in its six seasons in the league … Leet’s previous career high in points was eight at Weber State (Jan. 13).
