NDSU Women’s Basketball Falls to Central Arkansas in FIU Holiday Classic

MIAMI, Fla. (NDSU Athletics) -- The University of Central Arkansas Sugar Bears led from start to finish as they claimed the FIU Holiday Classic Championship with a 68-45 win over the North Dakota State University women's basketball team Thursday, Dec. 21, at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center on the Florida International University campus.

Sophomores Rylee Nudell and Reilly Jacobson each scored 10 points, leading the Bison (6-7), with Nudell also pacing NDSU on the glass with four rebounds.

Nudell and freshman forward Emily Dietz were selected to the FIU Holiday Classic All-Tournament Team for their performances during the event.

North Dakota State shot 42 percent from the field and three-point range, but took only two free throws in the contest.

Kamry Orr netted a game-high 19 points on 7-of-8 shooting to lead Central Arkansas (7-4).

The Sugar Bears shot 54 percent from the floor and 50 percent from three-point range, and went 5-of-8 at the foul line for 63 percent.

UCA outscored NDSU in the paint, 32-24, and netted 18 points off 17 Bison turnovers.

Central Arkansas also posted a 27-25 advantage on the boards, and compiled 11 steals.

North Dakota State is scheduled to host Dakota State at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, inside the Scheels Center at the Sanford Health Athletic Complex in its final game before beginning Summit League play.
