FARGO (Valley News Live) A trial date is now set for a Moorhead man accused of kidnapping his daughter's ex-boyfriend and threatening his life.
Jose Toribio is set to go to trial on November 28. He pleaded not guilty to felony charges of kidnapping, terrorizing, and burglary stemming from an incident back in June.
Police reports say Jose Toribio and Victor Toribio showed up at a West Fargo home, upset that Jose's daughter had missed work. That's where they allegedly kidnapped his daughter's ex-boyfriend, who they believed caused her to miss work, according to a police interview with Toribio's daughter.
The men then drove the kidnapping victim to Richland County, allegedly punching him in the face when he asked a question, and threatened his life.
The incident triggered a multi-agency search in the area, and ended with both Toribio's being taken into custody at gun point in south Moorhead.
A kidnapping charge against Victor Toribio was dismissed, but officials with the Cass County State's Attorney's Office say they are considering a charge of conspiracy to commit kidnapping.
