School stepping up security after potential threat

Thief River Falls, Minn. (Valley News Live) - Officials are investigating a potential threat against Lincoln High School. The Thief River Falls School District was notified today about the possibility that someone could be coming in to the school on November 1st with a firearm with the intent to do great harm.

The comments were allegedly overheard and later reported to school staff.

School Superintendent, Bradley Bergstrom says the threat may not be credible but the school is taking no chances. Recent security measures keep the building in “lockdown” during the school day. The school is working with law enforcement until the situation has been resolved.

Parents of students in the school district were notified of the threat Monday evening. Anyone with questions is asked to contact Superintendent Bergstrom at 218-681-8711 ext. 5226.
