Sabin man is in jail after allegedly firing a taser at Clay County deputy

The identities of the individuals involved in a Sabin shooting have been released.

Clay County Deputy Ryan Sinclair and Sergeant Gabriel Tweten have both been placed on standard administrative leave. 19 year old Brady Allan Adrian of Sabin was taken by ambulance to Essentia Health in Fargo where he was treated for a non-life threatening gunshot would and released. Adrian is now in the Clay County jail pending charges.

Saturday night, the Clay County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call of a suicidal male with a knife at 15 1st Street South in Sabin.

According to the BCA's preliminary investigation, the deputies found Adrian in his bedroom holding a knife. The report says Adrian initially ignored orders to drop the weapon, came at Sergeant Tweten, punched him multiple times and knocked a taser from his hand. The report says Adrian then grabbed the taser from the ground and fired, hitting Deputy Sinclair. Deputy Sinclair discharged his firearm, striking Adrian. The BCA says Adrian continued to struggle but the deputies eventually handcuffed him and took him to the hospital.

After treatment, Mr. Adrian was released to the custody of the Moorhead Police Department and was booked into the Clay County Jail on probable cause 2nd degree and 4th degree assault.
