MN man facing attempted murder charge after stabbing in Thief River Falls

THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. (Valley News Live) A Minnesota man is facing attempted murder charges related to a reported stabbing in Pennington County.

26-year-old Louis Damian Cruz Montanez of Thief River Falls is being held in the Pennington County Jail. He is also facing a second degree assault charge.

Dick Wittenberg with the Thief River Falls Police says their department received a call shortly after 8:00 p.m. Wednesday night on a report of a stabbing at the Northern Pride Turkey plant.

Wittenberg says two people were fighting in a break room of the plant when one of the men pulled out a knife. One person was taken to the hospital with stab wounds to the neck.

Cruz Montanez's will make his first court appearance on Friday.
